1 / UBIQUITÉ

This new work, Ubiquité, is a nine-year contemplative journey from the time I became a mother until today. When I talk about a journey, I don't mean travelling far to take photos. Instead, I held my daughter's hand and walked with her down a neighbourhood street. As we walked, I took pictures of electricity poles. It's as if every pole possesses a purpose and, with time, is liberating itself from its previous form. The poles have emancipated themselves from their yellow and black appearance and transformed into a pure white hue. They were captivating in the morning light, radiating a blue glow from within. It's as though each of them is undergoing a metamorphosis, much like the trunk of a living tree. Like the cracks on old tempera or oil paintings, these lines create an imperfectly perfect coexistence of abstract and figurative elements without boundaries.
